Garden Works

Garden Works

Garden Works is built on the notion that community gardens are a great way to develop and nourish a community, beautify a neighborhood and remind us of the incredible things we can do with limited space.

Garden Works is responsible for the Habana Outpost border garden, a small green roof that soaks up storm water runoff and a container garden of bee, bird and butterfly loving plants that represent the native flora of Brooklyn. By providing food, shelter and cover for wildlife, the area is a Certified Wildlife Habitat for the National Wildlife Federation. It most recently won the Greenest Storefront Award through the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's Greenest Block in Brooklyn competition!

This year, in collaboration with Brooklyn-based cooperative NYC Beekeeping Habana Works will house rooftop honeybee hives, keeping our flowers happily pollinated and the neighborhood flush with delicious, local honey.
