On Saturday, June 4, Habana’s new friend and celebrated chef, Luke Thomas, visited us at Habana Outpost for a fun morning of cooking in the food truck and planting herbs with kids from the community.
For the first part of his visit, our line chefs gave Chef Luke a tutorial on how to cook Habana’s famous corn and other tasty items from the menu. He then joined them and cooked meals for a few of our lucky patrons.
Afterwards, he made his way to Habana’s Kids Corner, where together with a group of children from the community, he planted a beautiful and fragrant herb garden. As they planted the herbs, Chef Luke described how he likes to use each one in the kitchen, and encouraged the kids to touch and smell them. Chef Luke’s herb garden now lives in Habana’s Kids Corner – we can’t wait to harvest the fresh herbs this summer!
Many thanks to Chef Luke for a super fun morning! Check out the photos below!
